Starting Saturday, September 19, School Board member for District One, Peter Maier, will hold monthly community meetings at the Lake City Public Library (125th NE, just West of Lake City Way), 10:30am-12:00 on these Saturdays: Sept. 19, Oct. 10, Nov. 7, Dec. 5 (and continuing thereafter).
The meetings are open to the entire community and are intended for anyone to come and discuss with Peter any topic related to Seattle Public Schools. He wants to hear what is on the minds of parents and staff.

This is an annual kick-off to the school year. Excited kids get to meet, parents and staff get to greet, and everyone gets to eat! (Kindergarten rooms will be open the first 30 minutes to allow parents to see the rooms and drop-off supplies. Kindergarten rooms will close at 5:30 pm. Please note that other than Kindergarten rooms, the school building will be closed to families as teachers are finalizing preparations for the first day of school.

Our first bell will ring at 9:15 am with the tardy bell at 9:20 am. School will be dismissed at 3:25 pm. Please do not leave children unattended until after 9:00 am when playground supervision begins.

Wedgwood is fortunate to have many before- and after-school programs available for its families. Parents, during the Sept. 8 BBQ the Kindergarten classrooms will be open from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm for our newest members of the community to meet their teachers in their new settings and drop-off supplies.
A friendly reminder that the rest of the building is closed as teachers will be doing their final preparations for the big day. In the meantime, please help yourself to some hot dogs, enjoy getting reacquainted with fellow families, and the teachers will be introduced at the event. See you there!
