Seattle residents have the opportunity to vote on two school levies by mailing in ballots by February 9, 2010. Both measures will renew existing levies. At Seattle Public Schools, we are committed to providing an excellent education for every student and to ensuring that every school is an excellent school. The Capital Levy, Prop. 1, is part of the district’s long-range plan to upgrade and renovate aging school facilities on a planned and predictable timetable. The Operations Levy, Prop. 2, represents nearly one quarter of the district’s day-to-day budget.
