Pledge Drive
Support Our School and Watch Our Giving Tree Grow
Dear Wedgwood Families,
It is time once again for our yearly Pledge Drive when we plant our Wedgwood "Giving Tree." Our children have benefited and will continue to gain from the bounty that our Giving Tree produces. We'd like to take you on a journey through a day at Wedgwood for a sample of PTA‐sponsored activities and the positive impact these enrichments have on the students.
- See a child learning a lesson presented on a new whiteboard the PTA purchased last year, or observe the wonders of children using the wireless technology on one of the five new interactive Smart Boards being purchased with PTA dollars this year.
- Watch a whole grade level working together to create art projects with Mrs. Sokolow and Principal Espania on Friday mornings with PTA‐sponsored supplies.
- Witness our teachers’ enhanced teaching strategies due to the PTA’s direct support of professional development: in addition to direct funds to each and every classroom.
- Gaze upon children’s masterpieces created under the guidance of the PTA‐sponsored art teacher
- Enjoy a host of shared Wedgwood community activities: Pumpkin Carving Night, Fall and Spring Dances, and the Read Around the World program where students explore different cultures. The PTA sponsors more than 20 such events throughout the year.
- Listen to your child sing a song or play an instrument in PTA‐supported music programs
- Admire, borrow and read the new books in the library, courtesy of PTA dollars.
- Peek around the playground garden that the PTA has helped grow for two years. Lucky students get a taste of the amazing vegetables being grown.
- Witness your dollars at work during October 14-16 when students will be coming home with wristbands every time they benefit from a PTA-sponsored or supported activity.
The PTA needs your help to make all of these programs and enrichments possible. With 63% of the PTA operating budget drawn directly from the Pledge Drive, we need everyone to contribute whatever amount they can to reach our $55,000 goal. Please note that 100% of your donation goes exclusively to Wedgwood. We realize that economic times are challenging. This is why now—more than ever—we need your contribution.
Our school is like the playground garden—it needs people to take ownership and care for it. An apple on the Giving Tree on the main entrance bulletin board will represent each family who contributes, regardless of amount. Please help us fill our tree. Our children are counting on us!
Thank you for your support,
